Christmas Decorations 2008

Home Decorations Bring the Spirit of Christmas Alive! When you compare a house that is all decorated to one that is not, there is a huge difference. The one that is decorated with care is a house that sends out welcome to our neighborhood. Everyone can take time to put up a tree and decorate inside. The ones that decorate on the outside are sharing the pretty lights and decorations with many people.

We had a neighbor that put out milk jugs filled with water then added the big bulb lights to make a rainbow down their driveway. It was the talk of the neighborhood because they made a splash of color in a new way. This is somewhat safer than the candles in the bags and gives multiple colors in the rainbow. When you use the recycle centers to round up the jugs for this. You can always take them back after you are through. Lights can be used in many ways and there are so many different ones that you have no problems incorporating them.

When you go to town the lights on the utility poles add color to your shopping pleasure. They are a back drop for the parades that will go through with your neighbors participating. When you are a house in the direct route of the parade its nice to see the houses lit up for the parade participants to enjoy. When you are from the north, you see icicles on the houses. If you are from the south we can use the icicle lights to mimic. With the coming of the rope lights, these are easier to string evenly.

Put your imagination to work and design a winter wonderland in your front yard. Share the lights, add tree decorations that will bring the wildlife in close. When it is cold the birds need those seeds and the cranberries are a nice touch. When you make decorations for the tree with pine cones and peanut butter add the seeds and the birds will love the season too. Get your family into helping it makes it fun and safer if you are on the ladder adding the lights to the eaves of your home. Enjoy the season with family as it should be. The neighbors will love to see the yard decorated for Christmas as well.

Great article, Greg. I, too, feel that people who decorate for Christmas are wanting to share the joy of the season. I know that anything that lights up the eyes of our children is worth the effort. Thanks for sharing.
