Christmas Decorations 2008
Christmas decorations bring a start to a new holiday season. What do you do when you move out on your own? The Christmas decorating falls on your shoulders. It is really a treat to get started. Now it is time for you to make the decision of what to get to make your tree special for you. You have used what your family has used in the past. Do you want to start early and use an artificial tree or go to cut your own?
If you collect angels or race car ornaments your tree could be based on a single theme. When we go to the national state fair we see trees in October to give us ideas. They are judged not only on the conformation of the tree but how well they are decorated.
When it is so hot no one really thinks about Christmas being just around the corner but it is time to get inspired from others ideas. They have shops that sell ornaments that are homemade to give a charm of their own hung on your tree. This way the ornament has sentimental value to you when you pull it out of the box the following year.
When you have your own children, they are the reason that you put up the tree. Tiny ones are amazed by the lights twinkling on their own tree. It is hilarious to watch little ones, the bows are the magic, letting the adults tear open the paper. They don't care what is inside. The beautiful drum is okay. Most kids are happy with a wooden spoon and pots and pans to make noise with. Your children are really in tune to what is happening through the years. Then they want to celebrate the same way with their kids.
Find special ways to enjoy the season. We go to the Yule log on the second Friday of December. There is food and fun with face painting and ornament making for the tree with pine cones and peanut butter. Then you get to walk the trail, lit up with candles in milk jugs, to the big bonfire. The entertainment changes every year but you will see some of the same faces return. Then its time to blow the whistle and the children are off to find the special Yule log with the great big Red Ribbon on it. The hill is alive with lights like fireflies, with all the children looking for the log with their flash lights.

Decorating your tree is special, let the ornaments show the charm and personality of you. When you get your tree decorated share it with others. Open the blinds and curtains and let your tree shine its happiness to others.
